It’s the moment of truth, folks. This mysteriously dark bundle of silky merino fabric will be unbundled to reveal all kinds of unexpected results. I jet-sprayed it to remove the loose dark particles from the bath.

I remember how I had to bundle everything in a few minutes, obtaining help from a fellow workshop attendee because I had been fussing over the stitching and getting the arm scythes to shape. Different leaves and plant parts — of what eucalyptus varieties I did not find out — were literally slapped and shoved into any dress surface possible…

The outcome is just fascinating.

  1. Wow this looks awesome :) It gives off a very autumn feel. Any ideas on what plants to use for more summery tones?

    1. Hi! Thank you for your comment. I am completely new to plant dyeing and have lots of reading up to do. I would be curious to find out what would be more summery — more yellows, maybe?
