My Hippie Image and Branding Inspiration

Uncategorized

Lately, I got to thinking about branding image — wondering if the look of this blog represents me, and what style appeals to me. Scouring the “inter-web”, these images called out to me and made my eyes smile… I used them as a guide to tweak my blog: picking up the accents, characteristics and mood.

I am a closet hippie with a bra, angsty, minus the drugs, and pretending to be a minimalist. Does my blog reflect this?

P.S. I was convinced that lavender and purple were “my” colours since 18, moving away from black and all that angst. At 19, when I wanted dreadlocks, a dear friend commented, ‘I heard spiders like to live in there’… I dropped that idea like a hot potato. That must say something about my commitment? :D But I do have a strong dislike / fear for spiders.

  1. I'm a pseudo hippie, because I'm not a free lover (haha), hate patchouli, and I'm all about supporting the military. My Mom was a hippie (minus the pot) who lived in a trailer during college. She grew a garden and learned how to can and also learned to sew all her own clothes. And then she had all seven of us at home…so yep, that's where I get my hippie tendencies from. :)

  2. The first thing I thought when I looked at these was that you are a secret sixties flower child :) I adore your header it's one of my faves!!

  3. I always love the simple yet elegant or minimalist look. The self made bag and dress you made for yourself exhibit what I really like.

Whatever branding or image you chose, you always have my vote :) More than the looks, I always admire your talent and personality.

  4. Hee Hee. Your branding is YOU but I do understand what you mean about trying to represent it visually on here. I think it's interesting, none of us ever fit nicely into one dictated “look” or brand. We're all fascinating, multi-faceted people.

  5. I think your blog and style are unique and I wouldn't necessarily call it hippie-like. I agree with everyone else and also think your branding is definitely you!
